Present Continuous Tense: -
It is used to show the continuity and progress of present action.
Identity – The Hindi sentence/sentences having “रहा है, रही है, रहे हैं” in their end is/are Present Continuous Tense.
Verb का वह रूप जिससे अपूर्ण कार्य का बोध होता है, उसे Present
Continuous Tense कहा जाता हैं।
पहचान – हिंदी वाक्यों के मुख्य क्रिया के अंत में रहा है, रही है, रहे है, रहा हूँ, रही हूँ आदि लगा रहता हैं।
Structure: S + HV + MV + O
Points to be noticed-
In this tense the main verb is used in present participle form (V4).
It has three helping verbs ‘is’ ‘Am’ and ‘Are’.
‘Is’. – With singular subject
‘Am'. – with ‘I’
‘Are’ – With plural subject
In the last of the Hindi sentence, we find रहा है, रही है, रहे हैं ।
Structures: -
· Positive Statement Structure
S + HV + MV + O.
He is going to market.
वह बाज़ार जा रहा है।
· Negative Statement Structure
S + HV + NOT + MV + O.
They are not talking in Hindi.
वे हिन्दी में बातें नहीं कर रहे हैं।
· Positive Question Structure
HV + S + MV + O?
Are you joking?
क्या आप मज़ाक कर रहे हैं?
· Negative Question Structure
HV + S + NOT + MV + O?
Is she not rolling the bread?
क्या वह रोटी नहीं बेल रही है?
· Positive Question with Question Word Structure
WH WORD + HV + S + MV + O?
How is he reading my book?
वह मेरी पुस्तक कैसे पढ़ रहा है?
· Negative Question with Question Word Structure
WH WORD + HV + S + NOT + MV + O?
Why are they not thinking?
